The Miami Arts District is a recently gentrified area North of Downtown Miami along Biscayne Bay. The Miami Arts District feels more like a traditional neighborhood than does Downtown Miami. In the past the area contained single family homes, apartment buildings and a small amount of commercial office buildings. During the most recent Miami Real Estate development boom many high-rise condominium towers were planned and developed on waterfront lots in the Miami Arts District. During the recent development slowdown in Miami and the national market some projects have been cancelled or have been adapted to alternate uses.
